Childhood & Nostalgia

Bricks for the Young Proletariat
Acrylic, Ink, and Found Plastic on Handmade Paper
2011

This piece deals with my Art Studio Concentration of Childhood and Nostalgia; two motifs I am excited to work with.  It is also painted on a thick slice of handmade paper that I made from used scraps, leaves, and old newspaper.  (Shred the material, submerge into a tray of water; blend; pour, and let dry).  (The results are quite interesting).
I also incorporated physical lego bricks as a sculptural moment in the lower right corner.  Keeping the dream alive - I worked primarily in lego for many years.

Griswold

Portrait of Griswold, Acrylic, Plaster, and Collage on Paper

This is a portrait of one of four dinosaurs I purchased at stArt on the Street this September.  Whatever you do, don't press the red button! (Located on the lower stomach, posterior to the battery compartment.  Know your anatomy.)

Poison Fruit

Poison Fruit,
Acrylic, Graphite, and Plaster on Paper
15"x20"

I'm a bit swamped these days, but there are some exciting developmentson the horizon.
I have visited Massart and RISD these past couple weekends, and I will be finishing high school this spring.
I plan on keeping this blog alive/beating as well as I can.
